New General Manager for Renishaw’s Swedish subsidiary

World leading technology company Renishaw has appointed a leading figure from the Swedish metrology industry to head up its Nordic operations. Bo Eneholm, aged 42, was until recently General Manager of Hexagon Metrology’s Nordic office, and as well as a deep knowledge of measurement technologies, has a strong background in sales of machine tools and tooling systems. He is also the current Chairman of the Swedish Industrial Metrology Forum (SIMET).

Renishaw AB, based in Järfälla near Stockholm, was set up in 2003, and supports Renishaw’s full range of innovative products, including CMM probe systems, touch probes and laser tool setters for CNC machine tools, linear encoders and rotary encoders for position feedback, and calibration systems for machine performance analysis. Speaking about his new position, Mr Eneholm said, “I have always had the highest regard for Renishaw and its products, which was formed when I worked for the company’s then Swedish distributor Mikromess. Therefore the opportunity to join this world leader in measurement and encoder technologies was simply too good to miss. My immediate aims are to further strengthen the sales and technical support to our customer base, whether machine builders, end-users, or existing distributors.”

Commenting on the appointment, Ben Taylor, Renishaw’s Assistant Chief Executive, said, “We are very pleased to welcome Bo on board, at a very exciting time for the company. Our measurement technologies are being applied to increasingly diverse applications, and his experiences within the metrology sector should prove especially valuable in helping to educate our Nordic customers about the benefits of our revolutionary five-axis measurement systems for CMMs.”

Mr Eneholm has worked for a variety of Swedish companies dealing with metrology and machine tool products. As well as his experiences of managing Hexagon Metrology AB, he was also Managing Director of measurement company DEA Mikromess AB from 2001 to 2004. He gained machine tool experience whilst working in various sales positions for grinding technology company Pferd-VSM AB and machine tool distributor Maskinfirman Rebenko AB.

The Renishaw Group currently has operations in 30 countries, with total employee numbers now approaching 2,200. For the year-ended June 2008, worldwide sales totalled £201 million (€260 million).
